I posted this picture before.
Some reds, blacks, and whites that will someday become a quilt for my great niece.
Am waiting on a couple more prints to arrive.
Not sure what I want to do with them yet.
Simple patchworks always seem to be what I am drawn to -
my pinterest board is full of them.
I don't like cutting.
Maybe I have some weird love for big ole chunks of prettiness?
Fear of screwing up? Or just changing my mind? My frugal nature?
Worries I won't like the finished project?
I am definitely over thinking it.
I am the same way with 12 x 12 sheets of paper.
(oh this would be good on a card, but I never actually cut into it!)
Sometimes I am such a dork ;)
Any suggestions?

I never finished a quilt till i overcame my fear of the binding. (yes... for 20 years i started and almost finished several.. but never quite got there) Finally 18 months ago i said whats the worst that can happen (as i looked at several half finished quilt tops that have been sitting in a box... abandoned because i was too afraid to finish them) and i finally FINISHED one. I have now finished 15 others! and the worst thing that has happened is they haven't been perfect, but each of them have been loved by the person i gave them to! Now i try to step out of my comfort zone just a little bit with each one that i make and learn something new! Make something thats beautiful and dont be afraid!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me over at Chirp! (Did you know you're a "no reply" blogger, that your email isn't linked to your profile? I couldn't send you an email thanks.)
ReplyDeleteCutting into fabric is such a commitment, but if I make a mistake, it's just an opportunity to figure out how to make it work another way. And I love recombining fabrics into something totally different. Plus, using up fabric means it's time to get more!
Sewing something the wrong way, though, and having to pick it apart with a seam ripper? That's misery!
thanks ladies :) I guess I just have to suck it up and dive in. I thought my email was in my profile...I will check into that, thanks!
