Am I the only one?

Wandering around blogland and facebook  the last week, I can't help but notice how everyone has their Christmas stuff packed away already.
Am I the only one with my tree still up?
Drinking from the snowman mugs?
Rudolph and the Abominable Snowman still clinging to the back door?

I like to keep Christmas around after December 26th.
Yes, I am one of those people! And I love it.
(I also start listening to Christmas music right after Halloween, thank you pandora!)
The lights are still sparking every evening.

Probably will be for at least another week, maybe more.
My tree is up so long it gets dusty.
Old farm house, so its not really that long!

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

  1. OHP-NOPE...you are NOT alone. My stuff is still out, tree up, and ornaments still hanging. I did clean up some of the packaging stuff from before and after opening. But, I kinda like the Christmas tree to linger. It makes me smile. I get to enjoy it without any of the pre-Christmas Day stress. (or am I rationalizing my laziness? I dunno).

That's a great Dicken's quote! I need to put the words up somewhere so that I can read it regularly =)

  2. Me too! Tree and lights and cards and tinsel - staying til Sunday ... I'd leave them til Easter but DH is very traditional : 12 days before and 12 days after :)

  5. I'm with you, we took our tree down but kept up my (beloved) Christmas wreath over the mantel ... and the mantel decor with just a few tweaks. And the buffet decor. And ... haha, I couldn't just stop all the beauty right in face of the dark days (and nights) of January - so I kept the lights burning! Mary

  6. You just keep that tree up as long as you want to. If it brings you happiness, then by all means, leave it up. Saw that you started following me so I thought I'd come and check you out. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

  7. To have a designated closet in the house to keep all Christmas decor in would be nice. Just put wheels on the tree stand and roll it in and out of the closet.

    1. I like the way you think! My parents had a huge house. My mom used to throw a sheet over her tree, stick it in an unused bedroom.
